PeriSignal
Editorial policy
How we write
- Every guide answers the question in its first lines, then explains the why.
- We cite primary research, US clinical guidance (ACOG, The Menopause Society, NIH, CDC, FDA) and peer-reviewed reviews. Sources are listed at the end of every guide.
- We separate strong evidence from early or mixed evidence, and say so in plain words.
- We do not make claims that a supplement treats, cures or prevents a disease.
Medical review
Guides are written by the PeriSignal editorial team from the sources they cite, and every source is checked before publication. When a licensed clinician has reviewed a guide, their name and credentials appear at the top of it. See medical review.
Updates
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We revisit guides when new guidance or major studies are published.
Independence
Our guides do not recommend brands. When a guide discusses a type of product, such as a supplement form or a prescription drug, it covers the evidence for that type, not for any company.
How we choose products
Product pages are separate from guides. For each need, we publish our criteria first, then list up to ten products that meet them, with facts taken from the official label. Products from a brand we are affiliated with are listed first and marked; the others are grouped by type, then listed alphabetically. Every product passes the same criteria. When we have a business relationship with a brand, whether ownership or a commission on a link, we say so on the product page, next to that product.
Corrections
We correct factual errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.
